ScootPad is dedicated to helping teachers become more effective at teaching and supporting their students for success. To that end, we are pleased to announce the new Knowledge Heatmap feature specifically for teachers to help them teach smarter not harder! This new improvement represents #8 of the 10 improvements we announced for the new 2018-2019 school year.

Below we’ve outlined 3 unique ways teachers can leverage the Knowledge Heatmap:

1. Identify Specific Standards to Emphasize the Most

Knowledge Heatmaps give you insights based on data analyzed from thousands of students and millions of data points. The more students use ScootPad, the more data they contribute; the more data they contribute, the smarter ScootPad becomes at predicting which concepts you should emphasize the most. Concepts are color-coded and grouped into easy, medium or hard categories making it simple for you to narrow down and focus. Use these insights to modify your lesson plans and implement a proactive game plan to ensure student success.

2. Make Smart Predictions

Knowledge Heatmaps allow teachers to make predictions about the difficult concepts students will encounter in future units. Grade level teams can approach entire units and concepts very differently when they know the concept may or may not pose a challenge.  Keep in mind, the Heatmaps are based on the “network powered data insights” and are not a reflection of your students’ actual performance.

3. Target Specific Standards for Supplemental Learning

Having this data is fantastic so of course taking action is what will ensure you are poised for success! Easily assign an instructional lesson or a targeted practice by choosing  one or more concepts from the Heatmap.
