Improvement 7 of 10: Developing a Growth Mindset

This blog is the 7th of the 10-part blog series introducing you to 10 major improvements and new features available for your use in the new school year.

Improvement 7 of 10: Developing a Growth Mindset through student feedback. ScootPad helps students build a growth mindset by providing feedback that encourages them to embrace challenges and believe in effort as the path to mastery. Additionally, the new weekly Goals and customizable Growth Mindset Message features encourage students to achieve and exceed their goals while understanding the value of effort, persistence and willingness to learn from mistakes.

Here’s how ScootPad helps students develop a growth mindset:

1. Constructive feedback motivates students

As students solve problems, short motivational messages will appear encouraging them on their journey to mastery. This in turn leads to higher achievement as students internalize these positive messages.

2. Weekly goals encourage students to exceed expectations

The goal board is a new feature which allows teachers to set a weekly goal in Math and ELA for their students to attain. Students love to see their individual goal bars rise as they solve problems. They especially enjoy seeing if they have claimed the top spot.

3. Growth Mindset messages on student dashboard

Keeping positive messages front and center constantly reminds students that they are capable of achieving anything they set their mind to accomplish. Teachers can let ScootPad autogenerate growth mindset messages each week or fully customize the messages as frequently as needed.
