We’re pleased to announce support for the IMS LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) integration on the ScootPad platform. ScootPad is now compliant with both LTI 1.x and 2.0 specifications. This integration enables users to simply click a button/link and seamlessly launch ScootPad from within their LMS/SIS systems.
What is LTI?
Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) is a standard from IMS Global Learning Consortium that enables learning platforms to easily integrate with learning applications providing a seamless end user experience. In LTI these learning applications are called Tools (delivered by Tool Providers such as ScootPad) and the LMS, or platforms, are called Tool Consumers.
Why use LTI integration with ScootPad?
When you implement LTI integration between your LMS/SIS system and ScootPad, your administrators, teachers and students can automatically:
- Get an account on ScootPad with the appropriate role
- Sign into ScootPad with 1-click (no separate username or password)
- Enroll into classrooms and much more…
How to get started?
From your ScootPad administrator account, go to the LTI Settings page and click “Request Keys” button. We’ll setup (within 24 hours) a unique consumer key and secret for your district/school and enable your access to implement LTI integration. Also, our team will work with you every step of the process until you are live with the integration.
With this integration, both students and teachers will be seamlessly logged into ScootPad if they’re already logged into their existing system. We believe that the more convenient we make it for students, the more quickly and efficiently they will learn.
We hope you enjoy this new feature. Please tell us what you think and keep giving us your feedback and suggestions as always!
